Honestly if it can move the files off my SD card and onto the HD organized by date then that's mostly what I need. If you retain lightroom as library it can work well but on its own is weak It does not do what lightroom and photoshop do and it needs to be used with something else. It does not make much sense to get the basic as many useful features are missing You can use a free trial version of lightroom if you like the concept of database keywording or alternatively adobe bridge that is fast and freeĭxO replaces lens correction entirely and is better plus you can tune or switch off corrections It is not that great at organising despite improvements. An everyday simple editor/organizer and something like DxO when shooting raw would be OK if that's what is needed. I'm OK using more than one product if needed. I'm not really a big photo editor either as it's not my idea of fun. Mostly shoot JPGs, but for something more serious or tricky lighting I'll shoot RAW. Is that right?Ĥ) General comments on it vs. DxO supposedly is the best at this type of stuff, just not sure how much difference it makes.ģ) From what I read it seems the Elite version is the one to get as the basic version seems to be missing a lot. I wonder if something like my PL 12-60 might actually look better on the wide end with some more sophisticated SW distortion correction. Can I download from a SD card and have it place the files on my HD sorted by date as I used to in LR(year\date folder format).Ģ) Has anyone found the lens distortion corrections to be better than what LR or most cameras do. DxO is currently 50% off.ġ) How is it for organizing your Photos. Well a PC crash recently now finds me with my photos restored on my new PC but not even wanting to load my old LR. Had been planning on getting something else to replace it as it doesn't work with my GX9 or Canon R & RP raw files. I used to use Lightroom (not the subscription version). Wondering if any people here use DxO Photolab.
